The videos provided by SpeakinMotion have been divided into 2 categories: Functional and Therapy. As the name would indicate, the Therapy videos are designed to practice specific aspects of motor speech production, while the Functional videos are intended to provide an immediate means of communicating.

VAST has been shown to be an effective communication tool for many individuals. It should be a treatment tool in the repertoire of clinical approaches utilized by speech clinicians. SpeakinMotion facilitates the use of the approach by providing a platform to save precious clinical time – and money. However, VAST can also be used by individuals who are not actively enrolled in a speech therapy program.

VAST involves seeing speech movements while hearing the words and feeling the rhythm of the speech. Nurturing these components allows an individual to produce the movements, helps in retaining the motor pattern, and promotes volitional use of the motor speech act.
