Autism and Stroke – Awareness Matters Promotion

SpeakinMotion has teamed up with others in the community to support Autism Awareness and Stroke Awareness during the months of April and May!! We will be hosting giveaways and providing resources with a goal of spreading awareness and supporting our non-profit partners such as Autism Speaks, the Stroke Comeback Center and the National Aphasia Association.

Awareness Matters - partnering with organizations such as Autism Speaks and the Stroke Comeback Center to help spread stroke and autism awareness. iPad Mini(s) Giveaway. Featured authors: Karen Arbini, , Amy T., Frances Amato, Melinda McFadden, Denise McCall, Stroke Comeback Center, Jenni Rook

SpeakinMotion will be giving away iPad minis as well as VAST speech therapy apps. Our fellow developers are also donating their fabulous products that include therapy products, resources for child development and other great gifts!

The generous developers providing gifts include:

We will also be featuring facts and stories from our partner bloggers and friends about Autism and Stroke related experiences. We’ve teamed up with a great group to provide a comprehensive outlook from several perspectives and hope their stories offer inspiration to all.

The goal of this promotion is to bring groups in the community together to create awareness, provide resources, and to raise money for great Autism and Stroke related organizations. We hope everyone we reach is able to share, contribute or donate what they can to unite the community with the mindset that ‘Awareness Matters’.

Enter the contest here (or click the link above). A donation to one of the distinguished non-profits that support this cause would be greatly appreciated; however, not mandatory for participation.

Both Autism and Stroke awareness matter to me greatly. My grandfather had a stroke which changed him completely. He had a very hard time doing everything and later in life didn’t realize the signs of cancer and died due to that. Autism Awareness matters to me because I am a teacher. The children I teach are those with Autism and Multiple disabilities and everyone should be aware out there!

Autism awareness is important to me as a SLP because I work with children on the spectrum everyday. We need to continue to be aware of the disorder and continue to work on finding the best tools and resources for these children and their families.

How Autism or Stroke Awareness matters to me? I’m an SLP and work with individuals who have had a stroke or have Autism. I have never used VAST apps, as I just got an iPad a few weeks ago.

Autism awareness is important to me because I am a SLP and work with my children on the spectrum. It is very important that not only professionals but also the general public learn about autism because it is on the rise. Being aware means being tolerant and understanding.

I just won the Vast Kids Songs App and can’t wait to use it with my kids–but since my mother-in-law had a stroke a year ago this month, she is still quite apraxic, so when we get together on Mother’s Day this Sunday, I know she won’t be singing the Blues anymore–she’ll really be belting the songs out! :) Aloha!
